Dr. Arenson completed her undergraduate work at UC Santa Barbara, receiving BA's in Anthropology and Religious Studies. She earned her MA from CSU Los Angeles in Anthropology and completed the PhD at the University of Southern California (go Trojans!) in Intercultural Education. In addition to her years of teaching experience, Dr. Arenson has worked at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Page Museum (La Brea Tar Pits) and the Los Angeles Zoo. Recently, Dr. Arenson completed a second MA degree in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Arenson is a Board member at the Gibbon Conservation Center (www.gibboncenter.org) and she is acting coordinator of the Social Sciences Learning Center located in C-315.
Dr. Arenson has published three textbooks and is currently working on an online lab manual in Physical Anthropology. She was the recipient of the 2011 Ralph Story Service Award for significant contributions to the college, to the community, and to the field of education.
