Mary Durst

Personal Info

Mary Durst is originally from Michigan where she grew up studying Voice and Piano, covering classical, gospel, & jazz styles. She began her professional career at the age of 16 and she has performed in a wide variety of venues including everything from The Playboy Jazz Festival in Central park to opening for Earth Wind and Fire in Las Vegas. Mary and her husband Craig lead the popular So. Ca. contemporary jazz group called 2AZZ1 ( that performs weekly at So. Cal. concert venues.  She writes and arranges music for syndicated television and radio and pop hit songs were on the smooth jazz charts for 2001 to 2007, top 40.  Her music education includes, Spring Arbor College-Michigan, Huntington College-Indiana, Azusa Pacific University-Ca & Cal Poly Pomona-Ca as well as master studies with Jazz Singer, Nancy Wilson, and award winning arranger Lennie Moore.   One of Mary's favorite sayings is; “If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Colin Powell.  She enjoys riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle when she's not making music.
