Education: CSU, Los Angeles: M.A. Mexican American Studies (2011); M.A.English Literature (2001) and B.A. English Literature(1998); Mt. San Antonio College A.A. Liberal Arts(1996)

Currently, I am attending UC, Santa Barbara where I am working towards a doctoral degree in Chicana and Chicano Studies. My research interests include:  Chicana/os & the educational pipeline; humanizing & transformative pedagogies; psychology of liberation & praxis; resistance ideologies & practices across borders; postcolonial theory & literature. I look forward to continuing my work of bridging the academy and the community through innovative projects, collaborations, and coalitions.

My other areas of interest include: Chicano/a Behavior, History, Literature, Art, Archives, Oral Histories, Cultural Preservation, Ethnography, Community and Educational Partnerships focusing on Social Justice.
