| Elsie B.C. Rivas Gomez was born in El Salvador and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently teaches in the English Department at Pasadena City College. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Diego State University, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University. Her poetry has appeared in the Santa Clara Review, Curbside Review, and other journals. Her collection of poetry, "Swimming in El Rio Sumpul" was nominated for the 2005 Pushcart Prize and is available at www.finishinglinepress.com and amazon.com. |
