Scholarships

IT PAYS TO BE AN ENGLISH MAJOR!

The English Department is proud to honor its students each year with a number of awards and scholarships. Students who excel in their English classes may apply. The scholarships are funded by donations from faculty, former students, and the community.

To be a candidate for English Department honors, awards, and scholarships, you must be currently enrolled at PCC, have a 2.0 overall GPA, and have earned two or more A's in transfer level English classes (exclusive of English 1A and English 1B) in the previous academic year. Individual scholarships and awards may have different criteria. In the spring of each academic year, students are asked to submit applications to the English Department Scholarship campus newsletter, The Crier , in February. Awards are presented to recipients in late April at the English Department Awards Tea.

The following lists the honors and awards and criteria for each award.
