This award is for an outstanding student of literature. Transfer status is desirable. |
Honors for Superior Achievement
Recipients must have a 3.75 in a minimum of 13 transfer units beyond 1A |
THE JOYCE W. WILER AWARD
This award is for students of creative writing who are transferring to a 4-year college or university. |
| SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON FINANCIAL NEED AND MERIT |
THE JANE S. LONG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Customarily awarded to a returning student, this scholarship recognizes students who are graduating and have a satisfactory overall record in scholarship and citizenship. |
THE ROBERT BROWNING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship recognizes a student who has a good general scholarship record with distinctive merit in English Literature, some need of financial assistance, and excellent school citizenship. |
SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR OF RETIRED FACULTY
Designed for English Majors who are returning students (out of high school at least ten years), this scholarship requires: a 3.5 overall GPA, 30 units with A grades in English 1A and 1B, and continuing studies at PCC. |
HUANG FUTURE ENGLISH TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP
Students must be majoring in English and planning to teach English, enrolled in at least 12 units at PCC, have an overall GPA of 3.2 or better, and have completed 15 units at PCC. (Winning applicants may apply more than once if they are still enrolled at PCC.) |
RAY P. DAVIS
Students must have completed a minimum of 12 units at PCC, have a 2.75 GPA or higher, be graduating or transferring from or continuing at PCC, and be currently enrolled in a minimum of 9 units. Priority is given to students from underrepresented populations. |
MARY ALICE FOX AWARD
Students must demonstrate scholarship in English with emphasis in writing and have completed one semester at PCC, be currently enrolled in at least 6 units, have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate financial need. |
THE SUSAN ISABEL FRAZEE AWARD
This award recognizes an outstanding student of Literature, creative writing, or the teaching of literature. Recipient must transfer or graduate to receive the money. Financial need is taken into consideration, as is a satisfactory overall record in scholarship and citizenship. |

THE ENGLISH HONORS AWARD
This award honors an ESL student who has taken ESL 33B at PCC and had gone on to excel in literature classes.

This award is for outstanding high school students in English who plan to attend PCC |
