The credit English as a Second Language (ESL) program is for students whose first language is not English. We offer 5 levels of ESL, each with reading, writing, listening and speaking classes. All classes earn college credit and the courses you take in Level 4 and 5 can be transferred to a four-year university.

Mission


The program in English as a Second Language builds the communicative foundation for all students who need to master the language in order to successfully perform at PCC. It encompasses both a transfer curriculum and learning activities designed to improve the economic condition and quality of life of the diverse communities within the Pasadena Area Community College District.
