DAVID N. DOUGLASS: (Natural Sciences Division Dean) B.S., UCLA; M.S. and Ph.D. Geology, Dartmouth College. Special interests in paleomagnetism, stratigraphy of the Rocky Mountains, the Old Red Sandstone of the British Isles, Norway and Spitsbergen, dinosaurs, and environmental remediation. ELIZABETH SHADMAN: Ph.D. Geology, Caltech. Specialty: To improve the quality and training of pre-service teachers by carefully linking content-based courses (physics, chemistry, earth science) to state standards as well as emphasizing the importance of pedagogical content knowledge.

BRYAN WILBUR: B.S., UCLA; Ph.D. Geology, University of Texas-Austin. Special interest in Cambrian Helicoplacoides.

BRUCE A CARTER: (also former Natural Sciences Division Dean): B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from Caltech. Special interests include the western San Gabriel Mountains, faults and earthquakes in the Mojave Desert, and the origin of magmas and volcanic rocks in the Klamath Mountains.

DR. JANET HAMMOND GORDON: B.A., Occidental College; M.S. CSU Long Beach; Ph.D., University of Southern California. Special interests include descriptive mineralogy, igneous petrology, Proterozoic geology, and continental rifting.
