This special report is a publication of The New Media Consortium, as sponsored by the Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) Program’s Multimedia and Entertainment Initiative.

The New Media Consortium’s Horizon Project is an ongoing research project that seeks to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have a large impact in education and other industries around the world. This report describes six technologies or practices that will impact businesses within three adoption horizons over the next five years. It is aimed at business owners looking for a view of future, people looking to train themselves for future jobs, as well as educators and policy makers who need to prepare new curriculum.
