Extended Learning provides community education classes, workshops, and programs designed to suit a variety of professional, personal enjoyment, and recreational interests.
In addition to scheduling and publishing four annual catalogs, Extended Learning handles its own registrations for the approximately 12,000 students enrolling each year, and employs more than 350 contract presenters. Classes are held at the college and in several locations within the community. A wide-array of online courses also are available for busy professionals, career-changers, job-seekers and those preparing to take formal tests (GED; GRE; LSAT, etc.). Programs for those under eighteen are offered through the department’s Youth College. During the summer, a comprehensive swim program is offered in addition to a nationally recognized reading program for children and adults. Extended Learning is self-supporting and receives no state funding.
