Math 128AB/134AB are computer based courses. Lectures, quizzes, and class work are completed online while exams are completed by hand. Though a TEXTBOOK IS NOT REQUIRED, students will be using the Hawkes Software which can be purchased at the Student Bookstore for around $120. Students enrolled in Math 128AB/134AB MUST have purchased the Hawkes Software prior to attending the MANDATORY orientation meeting on August 22, 2013 (at 12:00 pm in R408). Students MUST bring their copy of the Hawkes Software to this meeting. |

So much MATH, So little TIME.
Does it seem like there is no end in sight to your math classes, and there is so little time to complete them all? Are you concerned about just not "getting it?"
Well, now there is a solution. You can take the Math Path!
- Complete TWO full semesters of math in just ONE semester
- Concentrate on success in math
- Get unmatched support resources: access to the TLC computer lab and study center, tutoring inside and outside of class, computer programs to aid in understanding the course material, and more!
- Be a part of a community of fellow classmates and get through it together
Math Path is a commitment. You must be willing to:
- Spend 20 hours per week outside of class time working on math
- Arrive on time to EVERY class
- Actively participant in class activities
- Ask for help from your instructors, classmates and/or tutors
- Help classmates understand concepts
- Participate in out-of-class activities, including field trips, study sessions, and social activities. Host study sessions when feasible
- Attend office hours when needed
- Work 20 hours or fewer if you have a job outside of school
- Take care of yourself with proper diet and exercise

I felt comfortable asking questions, which was a big step to overcome for me. The fact that the class is so united helped me a lot.
I complained about the hour of the Success Skills class at first but after seeing how much I got done; now I believe that the students in the next Math Path should stay longer. That way they will be able to accomplish what I accomplished.
By selecting this program I have improved my mathematical skills at a level that I never knew I could have otherwise.
The teachers, volunteers, and tutors all support the students to reach their goals.
The camping trip defintely made me more comfortable with my classmates, which allowed me to ask questions when I had problems.
It was fabulous to have hands-on measurement instruments, talks and discussions, about the way math can relate to our daily life in different forms and disciplines such as Biology, Geology, and Astronomy.
