On Tuesday, October 28, 2008, the Pasadena City College Foundation celebrated its inaugural Building the Spirit of a Vibrant Community award luncheon to honor an individual, organization, or business that had made an exceptional contribution and commitment to the advancement of our community, based on the following criteria:
- Achievements in Pasadena and/or the other areas served by our college district;
- Commitment to education;
- Leadership and vision for Pasadena and/or the other areas served by our college district;
- Service and involvement in Pasadena and/or the other areas served by our college district; and
- Creativity, innovation, initiative and special qualities
In our inaugural year, we honored Senator Jack Scott for embodying the best of these qualities.
