Continuing Students: Reinstatement

Check or money order for $140.00 made out to: United States
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) _ Complete Form
I-539 (Make sure “Reinstatement” is marked
on top of application or on Part 2)

Copies of all previous I-20’s
-
Official transcripts from PCC Records Office (L-113) and official
transcripts from previous institutions
-
Financial Verification (4 months of bank statements in month
order)

Original passport and I-94 (white card in the passport)

Prepare letter to USCIS (student). The letter must explain
the type of violation and why you fell out-of-status, how the
denial of reinstatement will be detrimental to your future,
and the steps you are taking to correct the situation and maintain
status in the future. Please make sure that you include in your
letter: IF MY PAPERS FOR REINSTATEMENT ARE DENIED, I
REQUEST A 120 DAY DELAY IN DEPARTURE.

Bring complete packet to L-104 to make an appointment to see
Barbara to obtain:
- Cover letter from Barbara
- A new I-20 form (check item #3e, other: for reinstatement)

Instructions

Leave early, recommended time to leave is 6:30 am – 7:00
am

Park at: 414 E. Commercial Street (next to the Mobile Gas
Station),
Cost $4.50 – 5.50

Go to Room 1001 to get a referral to go to Room 8559 for adjudication.
While you are in Room 1001, do not pay any fees and keep your
I-539 application.

When in Room 8559, you will place your papers in a tray marked
“STUDENTS ONLY”. They will then give you
a referral card to go to the 8th floor.

On the 8th floor you will pay $140.00.
