Applicants Under 18 years old

Note: All applicants must be at least 16 years old at the start of classes and students under 18 must show sproof of high school graduation prior to acceptance.

  1. High School Graduation Requirement
    • Pasadena City College does not offer a high school completion program. California State law clarifies that a student must be 18 years of age or a high school graduate by the time their first semester begins.
    • The minimum age to attend PCC as an international student is 16. However, a 16 year old must be considered a HIGH SCHOOL graduate. Proof of high school gradutation must be provided PRIOR to acceptance.
    • All applicants must submit a copy of their high school diploma in order to receive a PCC I-20.
    • Applicants under 16 that have graduated high school MUST wait until they have reached the minimum age to apply.
    • O' LEVELS and IGCSE
      • Students who wish to enter Pasadena City College by completing the Cambridge O Levels or the IGCSE must be in an O Level or IGCSE CURRICULUM. They must also pass five of the IGCSE exams which must include English, Math, Social Studies, second language, and one science class with grades of C or better. We will not accept students who take these as independent or private candidates.
  2. Assigned Guardian Statement Form :
    • Pasadena City College’s International Student Center requires that students who are under the age of 18 have a guardian over the age of 21 living in 75 mile radius of Pasadena City College. In the event of a personal emergency, accident, illness or incarceration, the State of California will require the signature of a guardian before offering assistance such as hospitalization or legal counsel. Pasadena City College’s International Student Center is not permitted to act in place of the parent or guardian. If you are under the age of 18, you are required to have your parent submit a signed and completed Assigned Guardian Statement Form, informing Pasadena City College’s International Student Center who will be assigned as your guardian. The U.S. guardian must sign the form at Pasadena City College, in the presence of a staff member at the International Student Center.

  3. Minor Health Consent Form
    • Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a Minor Consent Form. This form is only valid if signed by your Parent or Guardian.
