Future Students: Student Visa InformationWhat is a Student Visa?A student visa is a permit issued by the U.S. government to non-immigrant students who want to study in the United States. Applying for an F-1 student visa can be complicated and frustrating. There is no guarantee that the visa officer at the U.S. Embassy or the Consulate will issue you a visa. You will need to convince the U.S. Embassy or Consulate that you are a serious student who will study full-time and earn good grades. You must also show sufficient financial support and demonstrate evidence that you will return to your home country after you have completed your studies. Meeting with the Consular Officer
When to ApplyApply for a visa in your home country at least 90 days prior to your programs start date. The US Department of State maintains up-to-date information on their website for the latest application process. Applying for a Visa
