Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Request

If we do not own a particular book or article, you can request that the Library borrow the book or make a photocopy of the article from another library. Please fill out the electronic ILL form or obtain a paper copy of the form at the library's Reference Desk.

Form Instructions:

  1. The library borrows materials or obtains photocopies of articles from other libraries for Faculty, Staff and currently registered PCC students only.
  2. The library will not borrow items already owned by the library that are checked out. In addition, the library will not borrow textbooks/workbooks, items published within the last 12 months or audio-video materials including videos, DVDs, audiocassettes, CD-ROMs, computers disks, and microform.
  3. Only three (3) ILL requests per week please.
  4. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks to process and receive the item. There is no guarantee that the item will be located. We will try our best to obtain the book/article. If you need it sooner, consider other local libraries.
  5. When your book or article arrives, we will call you to pick up the item(s) at the library Circulation Desk.

If you have questions, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department at (626) 585-7846.

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS: The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, US Codes) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries are authorized to furnish a photocopy or reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for or uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse or accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright.
