The Media Collection, contains VHS videotapes,
16mm films, DVD's, slide shows,
and CD-ROMs on a wide variety of subjects
ranging from electronics to psychology to classic and feature
films.The collection is developed primarily according
to faculty requests.
Faculty may reserve media items on
a
first come, first served basis for a maximum of seven
days. If you require an item for longer than seven days you
may
extend your reservation as long as it does not conflict
with another reservation.
The VHS videotapes and DVD's from the New Media Center may
be placed on reserve in the Learning Assistance Center
for student viewing. In accordance with copyright law
and the
policies of Pasadena City College, unauthorized use
of the materials in this collection outside of the instructional
program
of the college is prohibited. You may search the Media
Catalog or the Subject Index on-line at the library site.

New Media Center also has the Multimedia Preview Room available
to faculty and staff to view any kind of media from VHS video
to a live teleconference to a PC-based multimedia presentation.
The Multimedia Preview Room is also Internet enabled with
a Pentium computer and lighting fast network connection.
The room will accommodate approximately 10 people and
is equipped with a rear-screen video/data projection system.
If there is any media you need to preview, by yourself or
with a small group of colleagues, contact New Media Center
to reserve the Multimedia Preview Room. When making your reservation
be sure to indicate what type of media you would like to view
so we can make sure the appropriate systems are ready and
waiting for your use. During the Fall and Spring Semesters
New Media Center hosts a series of media preview sessions.
During these preview sessions, we show tapes from our existing
collection, particularly new acquisitions, as well as titles
being considered for purchase.
