News: Pasadena City College Closes on Fridays this Summer

Pasadena City College will be closed on Fridays this summer, from June 18 through Aug. 11, as part of cost-saving and environmental measures.

PCC officials said that there will be significant savings in air-conditioning and electrical expenses, which will help the college save money.

The new schedule was reached through agreements with all of PCC’s collective bargaining groups to pilot a summer, where classified and non-instructional certificated employees will work four 10-hour days per week.

Students and the community will continue to be able to access information, apply for admission, and access PCC online services seven days a week through the college’s website at www.pasadena.edu.

The campus will resume a five-day workweek on Aug. 12.
