PCC in the News News: Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble Comes to Campus Feb. 21
As part of its celebration of Black History Month, Pasadena City College is proud to present “Art of Jazz to Jazz: A Legacy in Music & Dance” featuring the Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble on Feb. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Harbeson Hall. Founded in 1993, Jazz Antigua Dance & Music Ensemble celebrates the jazz tradition as a vital thread in the cultural fabric of African-American history and heritage, and as a defining element of the American experience. The company’s mission is to increase awareness of and appreciation for jazz as an American legacy. Artistic director and choreographer Pat Taylor blends her love of jazz and blues music, as well as visual art and spoken word to create Jazz Antigua’s own brand of jazz theater with a distinctive historical perspective. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Beverly Tate, campus diversity coordinator, at (626) 585-7653.
