PCC in the News News: LED Global Lawsuit Against District DismissedLED Global, a lighting products manufacturer, has dismissed its lawsuit and its claims against the Pasadena Area Community College District, Trustees and Administration for breach of contract and other causes of action arising from conduct by former college employees Richard van Pelt and Alfred Hutchings. LED Global has alleged in a separate lawsuit that van Pelt and Hutchings solicited a bribe from the company in return for the award of a contract. The contract was never awarded. The District learned from the District Attorney’s office that van Pelt and Hutchings were being investigated for criminal conduct and not long after, terminated van Pelt and Hutchings based upon substantial evidence of violations of District policies.
