News: PCC Opera Workshop to Perform Die Fledermaus
Pasadena City College’s Performing and Communication Arts Division is proud to present "Die Fledermaus," composer Johann Strauss II’s most celebrated and beloved operetta, in PCC's Sexson Auditorium.
There will be four performances, beginning Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 14 at 4 p.m.
"Die Fledermaus" is a delightful tale of one man’s elaborate plan for revenge that leads to mistaken identities, practical jokes, elegant frivolities, intoxicating revelry, and plenty of freely flowing champagne. Featuring some of the most captivating music ever written, it’s set in 19th century Vienna, and is considered the jewel of the golden age of operetta.
Tickets will be sold at the door only, beginning one hour prior to the show. Tickets are: $25 for the reserved section; $15 for general admission; and $10 for students, staff and seniors. Purchase a parking permit from the vending machines for $2 in any lot.
