News: CEC to Host The Whole-Brain Child Presentation
The Pasadena City College Department of Parent Education is proud to host “The Whole-Brain Child” presentation on March 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the PCC Community Education Center.
Presented by Dr. Tina Bryson, “The Whole-Brain Child: Strategies to Nurture your Child’s Developing Mind and Survive Everyday Parenting Struggles” aims to provide parents and teachers with the practical tools they can apply in their everyday lives to help raise and educate kids who are happy, healthy, and balanced.
Dr. Bryson will be addressing issues such as more effective communication with children being irrational, how to deal with a child who is having an “emotional tsunami,” and more effective and loving ways to discipline children.
Dr. Bryson is a psychotherapist at Pediatric and Adolescent Psychology Associates in Arcadia, Calif., where she sees children and adolescents as well as provides parenting consultations. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, where she explored attachment science, childrearing theory, and the emerging field of interpersonal neurobiology.
Her best-selling book, “The Whole-Brain Child,” gives parents practical ways to transform difficult moments into opportunities for children to thrive.
“The Whole-Brain Child” presentation will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at the CEC (3035 E. Foothill Blvd., Pasadena). This event is free to the community. Parking is available for $2 in Lot C.
