PCC in the News News: PCC Welcomes New Police Chief
The Pasadena Area Community College District (PACCD) Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Donald Yoder as Pasadena City College chief of Police and Safety Services. Yoder has been a member of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department since 1985. In June 2011, he was promoted to the rank of captain, where he oversaw and directed the operations and administrative services for the department. His responsibilities there included managing a budget of more than $20 million, and reviewing criminal and administrative investigations. He was also responsible for working with local school boards and community colleges. Yoder graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development. A graduate of the Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) Command College, Yoder also has advanced training in supervision, internal affairs, background investigations, disaster preparedness and budgeting.
