News: Registration Open for Theatre in Ashland Trip
Pasadena City College’s English Division announces its annual Theatre in Ashland program, from July 1-8, in Ashland, Ore.
“We are so excited about this program,” said Associate Professor Steve Pell. “For the first time, we are going to be able to see a different play every night.”
Running in conjunction with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, participants of the program will be able to view several plays, including: The Taming of the Shrew, King Lear, The Liquid Plain, Two Trains Running, Cymbeline, Heart of Robin Hood, My Fair Lady, and A Streetcar Named Desire.
The cost is $885 for students enrolled in English 35 or English 135, but the trip is open to the community for an extra $50. The cost includes accommodations for seven nights, tickets for eight plays, a backstage tour, discussions with the actors, lectures by theatre company members, and insurance. Single rooms are available at additional cost. The price does not include class enrollment, fee, meals, transportation or parking.
“There will be classes and symposiums with the actors and directors for just our PCC group,” Pell said.
The payment and enrollment deadline is May 15. No refunds will be given after June 1. Please make the check or money order available to Pasadena City College, and mail to Dr. Krista Walter, English Division, Pasadena City College, 1570 East Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91106-2003. Partial scholarships may be available.
An orientation meeting will be held on May 17 at 11 a.m. in C245. Register soon to make sure you get a spot!
