News: Basketball Teams Host Coaches vs. Cancer Night Feb. 5

The Pasadena City College men's and women's basketball teams will host "Coaches vs. Cancer Night" at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The Lancers play a doubleheader against Los Angeles Harbor College beginning with the women's game at 5 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 7 p.m.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program empowers coaches, their teams, and communities to join the fight against cancer by participating in awareness efforts, advocacy programs, and fundraising activities to help people with cancer today and to find cures to end the disease tomorrow.

Guided by the Coaches vs. Cancer Council, participating coaches have helped raise more than $87 million to help the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.

A donation box will be provided at the gym front door. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in recognition of cancer awareness. Pink Coaches vs. Cancer T-shirts will be on sale for $20 each. A silent auction will also take place as PCC students art work will be on display.

The Lancers teams will be wearing special white with pink number jerseys for the event.

With help from the public relations office, the PCC basketball teams put together a video on cancer awareness. Just click the following link:
