News: DSPS Student Receives Award From The Pasadena Mayor’s Committee For Employment Of Persons With Disabilities

Ms. Daphna Patel was selected by the Pasadena Mayor’s Committee for Employment of Persons with Disabilities as the recipient of this year’s award for Academic Achievement.

Daphna has completed approximately 40 units at PCC while maintaining strong academic performance. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Daphna is actively involved in the campus honor society and student government. This year she was nominated for the post of Vice President of Cultural Diversity for the Associate Students organization, and will be serving on various student government committees. Daphna is also devoting her energies towards developing a club for students with disabilities at PCC. Her goals for the Students Unlimited Club are to increase awareness of disabilities issues on campus, and to assist students with developing self advocacy skills. Congratulations Daphna!
