News: PCC/HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)

The PCC/HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) will be administered at PCC on 1:30pm, April 20 (Sat), 2013.

Do you have Chinese language proficiency? Would you like to put it to use in the international job market? Whether you have basic comprehension or advanced proficiency, you should consider taking the Chinese Proficiency Test!

Those interested in obtaining certification for their Chinese language skills are encouraged to take the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, also known as the HSK, which will be offered this year at Pasadena City College on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

The HSK is the most comprehensive standardized test of Chinese as a foreign language, as recognized by the People’s Republic of China and numerous institutions and business corporations worldwide. The test is quickly becoming an important measure of Chinese proficiency in job recruiting. Already a requisite for studying in China, HSK certificates are also the standard by which multi-national corporations gauge Chinese language competency.

The exam consists of sections on listening, reading, writing, and speaking, and it is the only one of its kind in the U.S. to cater to such a broad range of proficiency levels. The HSK offers sixt different level of the Test from Level 3 to Level 6 given at PCC. Test fees are from $40 to $70 depending on the level of the Test. Examinees also have the option of choosing between the Traditional and Simplified character version of the Test.
