Sophomore Diane Lombardi ran to a ninth place finish at the 2012 South Coast Conference women's cross country championships Thursday to give the Lancers an All-SCC runner for the fourth consecutive season. The race was held at Griffith Park's Crystal Springs 5-kilometer course.

Lombardi, a sophomore who finished 15th last year, placed in the elite top 14 (All-SCC First is first seven, All-SCC Second is next seven finishers) by racing a time of 20:58.31. PCC finished fourth as a team to qualify for the Southern California Championships.

Lombardi joined Elizabeth Lyons (ninth, 2011) and Tracee van der Wyk (second, 2010; third, 2009) to keep the Lancers streak going at four years.

In the small field of 58 runners from seven conference colleges, freshman Christina Shamirian placed 20th at 21:42.93. Sophomore Arielle Barragan-Steimer came next in 26th (22:05.19), then sophomore Melissa Hadloc in 35th (22:50.40). The freshmen trio of Kailadnni Chavez (41st, 23:25.83), Linda Flores-Barillas (46th, 23:51.22) and Tanya Hossain (47th, 23:51.67) rounded out the Lancers' racers.

Cerritos College captured the team title and Karina Sanchez of the Falcons won the individual race with a mark of 20:14.78.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, the state's No. 12-ranked PCC women will participate in the Southern California Championships at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa. The meet begins at 9 a.m.
