News: Men's Cross Country Finishes 6th At SCC Championships
The Pasadena City College men's cross country team is uncertain of its 2012 future after finishing a disappointing sixth place out of seven teams at the South Coast Conference Championships held Thursday at Griffith Park's 4-mile course.
The Lancers' top runner Francis Lee placed 18th overall out of 105 runners, but it was not enough to earn All-SCC (top 14). A freshman, Lee ran a time of 20:43.77. Juan De La Rosa was next for PCC in 38th place (21:24.44). The rest of the Pasadena harriers finished as follows: sophomore Kevin Cano, 45th, 21:36.81; freshman Faustino Gil, 49th, 21:51.27; sophomore Brian Sacripanti, 52nd, 22:03.29; frosh Charlie Camacho, 53rd, 22:07.32; freshman Brendan Greene, 70th, 22:42.14; first-year Alfredo Folgar, 77th, 22:57.75; rookie Jack Serna, 86th, 23:30.92; sophomore Chris Paidimukkala, 94th, 24:19.29; and freshman Abraham Esparza, 100th, 25:19.67.
Only the top five teams qualify from conference, but PCC could get a remaining at-large berth depending on the finish of other non-conference teams.
Pasadena may also have individual runners if the team doesn't qualify. Check this website for further developments. The Southern California Championshps will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 at Costa Mesa's Fairview Park.
