For the second straight year, Pasadena City College men's swimmer Stephen To won the 100-yard butterfly title on day 2 of the 2013 South Coast Conference Championships held Friday at Chaffey College.

To (pronounced toe), who is the CCCAA defending state champion in the longer 200 fly, swam a slightly slower time of 51.69 seconds than his winning mark last year (51.47). The win was the first by the Lancers' men's team at the conference finals.

To is the sixth PCC swimmer under head coach Terry Stoddard (took over program in 2000) to be a repeat conference champion, all occuring since 2007. He is the first since Nick Lao (2006-2007) to repeat as 100 butterfly champ.

Lancer Michael Chiodo swam a 54.02 time to place second in the 100 backstroke. Willie Nitinthorn placed fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:36.94) while Anthony Vega-Fujioka scored an eighth place medal with a personal best 4:54.02.

John Darrin Smith also hit his personal best with his 11th place showing in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.39). In the 800 freestyle relay, the Lancers took sixth at 9:05.53 as three different swimmers posted their personal best 200 splits in Jairo Albayero (2:14), Jordan Porchia (2:33) and Vega-Fujioka (2:12). The lead swimmer was Agasi Gukasyan, who had the fastest split with a 2:05.

PCC stands in sixth place going into the final day of the SCC Championships on Saturday, April 20.
