Campus Smoking Resources

Campus Smoking Policy: PDF document requires Acrobat Reader District Policy 5575

Outdoor smoking is prohibited within:

  • Twenty feet of any District-owned/occupied building and/or any space where food is served
  • The perimeter of any District-owned/occupied outdoor athletic venue.

Campus Police will begin citations for violations beginning January 2009.
Violations for littering, however, may be issued at any time.

PCC Student Health Services

  • Enroll in our smoking cessation counseling services. Call (626) 585-7244 or stop by U104 to make an appointment:
    • to receive free nicotine replacements and
    • counseling services.

Many people quit for reasons other than themselves.

Secondhand smoke:

  • Has twice as much nicotine and tar as the smoke inhaled by the smoker.
  • Carries just as many chemicals as the cigarettes do.
  • Contains 50 chemicals that cause cancer in others.
  • Causes coughing, phlegm, chest discomfort and reduced lung function in non-smokers.
  • Is especially harmful to young children.

Secondhand smoke affects everyone, please think of others.
