Questions about downloading and subscribing to podcasts.

What is podcasting?
Podcasting makes an audio and/or video file available online for downloading. You can then hear the podcast whenever you want from your computer or a portable media player.

What do I need to listen to a podcast?
The first thing you need is podcast subscription software such as Apple's iTunes or MyYahoo! to help manage your podcasts. Using iTunes, or another podcasting software, you can listen to the podcast anytime from your computer. Make sure your computer has audio capabilities if you are not able to hear sound when playing the podcast. To take the podcast with you, you'll need a portable mp3 player like an iPod or cell phone with mp3 player capabilities. Simply transfer the podcast to your portable mp3 player and go.

How do I download or subscribe to a podcast?
To download a podcast, click on the appropriate link for your preferred player (iTunes or mp3). For mp3 players, click on the link and then copy and paste the URL into your podcast software. To subscibe using iTunes, click on the subscribe link once you are in iTunes.

How much does it cost for a podcast?
Pasadena City College podcasts are free. No charges apply.

What media players support the mp4 file format?
QuickTime® Player , Windows Media® Player and RealPlayer® support the mp4 format as well as newer versions of iTunes®.
