Under the direction of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Director, the College Executive Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing shall activate the Joint Information Center (JIC) during emergency situations. The purpose of the JIC is to:

  • Provide emergency status updates to the media and community
  • Release lifesaving/health preservation instructions
  • Provide a spokesperson/unified voice for the college
  • Provide a central point for inquiries
  • Coordinate communication mediums (web, social media, phone)
  • Release clear, concise, and confirmed information
  • Coordinate with other on-scene information officers (Fire or Law Enforcement)
  • Record and archive emergency response of the college
