PCC Retirees Association

Harry KawaharaReflecting upon my 28 years of service at Pasadena City College, I feel a strong sense of loyalty to the institution that has been an important part of my life. PCC allowed me many opportunities for my professional development and personal growth. I also made many wonderful friends as we worked together to advance the goals of an exceptional community college. It was an honor to be affiliated with Pasadena City College.

Those warm ties to PCC motivate me to remain connected to a place that is such a valuable resource to the larger Pasadena community. For me, the PCC Retirees Association serves as a helpful vehicle to maintain that connection.

One concrete way in which we support PCC is by raising funds for student scholarships. Over the years we have given many scholarships to deserving students valued at thousands of dollars. We have our newsletter which keeps us in touch with former colleagues, both academic and classified. Many of our retirees are ‘big time’ travelers and the newsletter is a means whereby we share in the experiences of our peripatetic friends. We also enjoy taking field trips together to places we may not go on our own, but going with an affable group of colleagues makes for a ‘fun event.’ We would be pleased to have you join us.

In short, the PCC Retirees Association enables us to meet new friends, keep up with old friends and enjoy sharing humorous stories and anecdotes about the adventure of growing older.
