Introduction to western classical music--its understanding and enjoyment; music elements; performance media; style and literature. Emphasis on awareness and evaluation of music in everyday life. Required concert attendance. Total of 54 hours lecture and 18 hours music laboratory. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC Grading: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass
