Structure and function of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and algae. Elements of microbial physiology, genetics, control and nutrition; epidemiology; immunology and allergy. Survey of microbial infections. Aseptic techniques. Total of 54 hours lecture and 72 hours laboratory. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC Grading: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass
