Observation and interpretation of geological phenomena with emphasis on the origin and development of the geology of Southern California. This course will consist of an one-day trip to the Mojave Desert on Oct. 6 and an overnight five-day trip to Owens Valley & Death Valley, Oct. 18-22. These trips will involve camping and strenuous hiking in inclement weather. Students must attend a mandatory organizational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 5:00pm in E203.
