News and Events

News is where you may add news articles. As a user, any news article for publication to the department or PCC will be reviewed by a department administrator and approved for submission to the department page or to the PCC homepage. Both users and department managers can submit news to their personal page without any other approvals.

Events are generally upcoming events. They should have a time and place. Like the news, any event for publication to the department or PCC will be reviewed by a department administrator and approved for submission to the department page or to the PCC homepage. Both users and department managers can publish events to their personal page without any other approvals.

Important Dates are generally start and end dates, such as deadlines for scholarships, or dates that applications are accepted. There is not usually a time or place. The Academic Calendar is using the Important Dates feature.

Banners are short one liners, like announcemnts, that appear throughout the web site. A banner can only have 75 characters. An example (in the red box):
