Women's HealthPAP Tests :The Student Health Center offers PAP tests for currently enrolled PCC students. We require students to pay the $25.00 (cash payment and may be partially refundable) fee at the time they make the appointment, therefore we cannot make PAP appointments over the phone. Appointments are scheduled with a nurse practicioner or physician and last approximately one half hour. Please prepare to arrive ten minutes early to process your paperwork. We highly recommend scheduling at least one to two weeks in advance as these appointments fill up quickly. Due to confidentiality laws, no test results of any kind can be given over the phone. An appointment will be necessary to review the results. Birth Control:The Student Health Center has a variety of birth control options for enrolled PCC students. All forms of prescribed birth control methods require proof of a PAP test within the last year. If this is your first time obtaining a birth control method, please let us know so that we may schedule you with an appropriate clinician. If you are seeking a prescribed birth control method and have a copy of your PAP test result done within the last year, then you may make an appointment by calling or stopping by the Student Health Center. A limited amount of condoms are free and available in the waiting area of the Student Health Center. No appointments necessary. Emergency Contraception Pills:"Plan B" is available at the Student Health Center for enrolled PCC students at a cost of $10.00 (cash). Please call or stop by the Student Health Center to make an appointment as soon as possible. If you are not currently enrolled at PCC and you are 18 or older, you can purchase Plan B over the counter at a local pharmacy with a picture ID. Please contact local pharmacy for availability and pricing. |
