Director's Message
Students are in the CENTER
of our Programs and Services
Recent research clearly indicates that students who utilize our Learning Assistance Center (LAC) services, whether through tutoring, multimedia, or other learning community activities, are significantly more successful than students who don’t use the Center. Students taking advantage of our support services consistently complete their classes, receive higher grades, and experience improved cultural awareness. We are pleased that over 5,000 students benefit from engaging with us each year.
Our center staff, with expertise in tutoring and technology, counseling and basic skills, is interested in finding solutions for all of our students’ learning needs. We employ and train over 100 student workers each semester as part of a work and learn environment to strengthen our commitment to support college and personal goals.
I want to invite and encourage our students and faculty to make our LAC your creative learning resource center. If there is anything our staff can do to support your teaching and learning endeavors, we want you to share your ideas with us. Please peruse this website to become familiar with our people, programs, schedules, and useful links. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at jcwood@pasadena.edu.
Thank you for visiting us.
John C. Wood, Director
