English 403

English 403 is a one-unit credit course for which students complete assignments on site by computer. The software program Skills Bank offers practice and testing in the areas of Vocabulary Building, Word Knowledge, Reading Comprehension, Capitalization, Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling, Mechanics, Usage, Sentence Structure, and Paragraph Writing. Students work at their own pace during hours which are convenient for them.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION

Each semseter, there are two orientation dates to choose from, usually the Thursday of the first week at 5 p.m. and the Friday of the first week at 1 p.m.  They are 50 minutes long.  Students enrolled in English 403 must attend one of these sessions.  At that time, students receive course information and a password, and they have the opportunity to ask questions of the instructor.

SPRING 2013 ORIENTATION DATES:

  • Thursday, January 10th at 5 p.m.
  • Friday, January 11th at 1 p.m.

Both meetings take place in W-101, the Multimedia Learning Center (on the west side of the pool).
