Welcome to the Learning Assistance CenterThe Learning Assistance Center (LAC) is a facility designed to offer academic support to students of Pasadena City College for the purpose of promoting scholastic success. It is located on the third floor of the D building on the campus of PCC, with additional computing labs on the first floor and in the W Building. The main telephone number is (626) 585-7230. Thank you for your cooperation. ResourcesThe LAC has a 42-station network which offers interactive software, Internet access, and a number of applications. Stations are connected to a chargeback laser printer. Other media available in the LAC include instructional DVDs, printed materials, and accompanying audio CDs. Reserve MaterialsFaculty members are encouraged to place materials on reserve in the LAC and to recommend software which could help their students to be added to the LAC Network. The Center is open 75 hours each week, including evenings and Saturdays. Tutoring ServicesTutoring is offered on a walk-in basis for various transfer subjects. Students with declared career and technical majors may receive group tutoring in any of their major-related courses as well as support for most transfer subjects. The Learning Assistance Center has eight full-time staff and approximately forty student assistants who assist in various shifts throughout the week.
