Foreign Language Lab

The Foreign Language Lab, located at the top of the south stairwell in building D, comprises two separate classrooms: the Foreign Language Multimedia (Computer) Lab in D-301 and a Foreign Language classroom in D-306.  Both are under the auspices of the Languages Division (C-247, 626.585.3187)

COMPUTER LAB AND CLASSROOM

Both labs allow instructors to present various media to their classes via Smart console technology.

The Computer Lab can accommodate up to 40 students each at an instructor-controllable computer workstation with headset, using Tandberg Educational's SANAKO interface. Its features include: 

  • Audio (WAV, MP3, Cassette, CD)
  • Video (MPEG, VHS, DVD, local)
  • Computer Assisted Lecture
  • Foreign language text word processors (NJSTAR)
  • Access to educational Internet sites.

The labs are primarily scheduled for use by instructors during class time.  Lab schedules are posted beside the doors of each of the labs after the second week of the session. 

AUDIO DUPLICATION

Instructors needing to copy a set of tapes or other audio resources for use in class must process their request through the Media Center 626.585.7292, LL-120.
