(IGETC) Requirements
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The IGETC permits a student to transfer from a community college to a campus in either the California State University or University of California system without the need, after transfer, to take additional lower division general education courses to satisfy campus GE requirements.
- Completion of the IGETC is not a requirement for transfer to a CSU or a UC, nor is it the only way to fulfill the lower division, general education requirements of the CSU or UC prior to transfer. Consult a counselor for other requirements.
- Students planning to transfer to the CSU may elect to follow the CSU general education certification program. Students may also elect to fulfill the graduation requirements listed in the catalog of any specific CSU or UC campus.
- In order to fully certify IGETC, all areas must be met with a minimum grade of C prior to transfer. Failure to complete IGETC may result in additional lower division GE requirements after transfer. Please consult with a counselor regarding any exceptions to this program.
- The university systems reserve the right to change specific requirements.
- Courses asterisked can be used for certification only in a single area.

All students will complete two courses (6 semester units), one from Group A and one from Group B.
