Transfer Admission Guarantee

What is a Transfer Admission Guarantee/Agreement?

Guaranteed Admission is a commitment that selected colleges and universities make to PCC students who meet basic transfer requirements. Students who complete an agreed upon sequence of classes in general education and a selected major with a stated minimum GPA can apply to the four-year institution within a prescribed time-frame and be "guaranteed admission."

What are the benefits of signing a TAA/TAG?

A TAA/TAG has many benefits. It provides prospective students with a specific plan of action to ensure they satify the admissions requirements. Signing a contract requires the student to meet with a PCC counselor to carefully plan the student's academic work. After the TAA/TAG is written the student, PCC Counselor, and university representatives sign the agreement. The signed contract provides the participating universities with the student's contact information. As a result, the student will have direct access to university representatives and current information pertaining to their admissions or changes they should know about. Other benefits vary, please check with specific school.

When is a TAA/TAG written?

A TAA/TAG may be written after the student has completed at least 30 semester units of transferable coursework. An agreement may be written up to one year before the student transfers. For example, a TAA may be written in September for the next years's fall term at UC Davis.
