Studying the communication process helps you understand how the human mind works. Analyzing the messages in advertisements, television programs, and political speeches helps you to understand our society. And, studying communication in everyday relationships, groups, and organizations shows us how these systems are created and maintained.


Programs and Degrees


Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer

The AA-T program in Communication Studies is intended to prepare you for transfer into the CSU system in such majors as Art, Communication, English, Journalism, Television and Radio, Theatre Arts, and other similar fields of study.


Associate in Arts Degree

The AA and AS degrees can stand alone, giving you the skills to enter the workforce. Or, they can be the first steps towards earning a bachelor degree at a four-year university.
