At Pasadena City Colleges’ Math Academy, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and supportive program for middle school students looking to build their math skills. We provide access to a variety of free noncredit math courses to advance positive and equitable math outcomes for middle school students transitioning into high school.  Our Math Academy offers rising 7th and 8th graders with a strong math foundation to boost their confidence in math and prepare them with a positive math experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

All classes will be offered at the PCC Community Education Center 3035 E. Foothill Blvd. Parents will be able to drop-off and pick up their students from parking lots A and C. Drop-off times begin 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Pick-ups are available no later than 15 minutes after the conclusion of class.

We advise that parents reach out to their student's middle school counselor or teacher. We have provided class-level descriptions with examples to help you make your selection. 
Instructors can be reached by email. Instructors’ emails will be provided to you upon enrollment through the syllabus.
Due to the short length of the program, we advise to keep absences to a minimum. Please notify the instructor if your student will need to be absent. Our counselors advise that students don't miss more than three classes for their own benefit.

We only provide a workbook. Please make sure that the student is responsible for bringing their own pens, pencils, and other supplies.

Each class may vary in the amount of homework and testing. Students will receive a letter grade at the end of the program. 
As these courses are part of our noncredit program, they won't affect future college transcripts. Depending on the student's middle school, counselors there might grant credit upon successful program completion. Please check with your student's school for further details.
Yes, we will allow for changes to the class schedule the first week of the program. Class changes are limited to class size limitations.
Each class has a maximum of 25 students.
