PCC operates under a Shared Governance model which encourages the participative role of faculty, staff, management, and students in District and College governance. The talented leadership efforts of our presidents, trustees, faculty, staff, and students have been instrumental in our growth and establishment as an outstanding institution.


Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees governs the Pasadena Area Community College District. It consists of seven elected members, each representing one of the seven trustee areas of the district. Qualified voters in each of the areas elect the trustee for a four-year term. The Superintendent-President of the District serves as Secretary to the Board.

Shared Governance

Each section of Shared Governance represents a different campus voice, each with designated areas of responsibility. Prior to taking action, the Board of Trustees consults and gives respectful consideration to the opinions expressed by each section of shared governance.


Rajen Vurdien, Ph.D.

Superintendent-President


The Superintendent-President is the chief administrative officer of the District and oversees the Pasadena City College administration. Dr. Vurdien is the 15th President of PCC, joining a group of exceptional leaders, each who have contributed to the college's development, progress, and success.

Dr. Robert H. Bell

Assistant Superintendent / Senior Vice President, Noncredit and Offsite Campuses


Oversees PCC's noncredit and adult education activities as well as the campus operations at our satellite campuses and programs. Additionally, oversees the AB86 Consortium Grant and the growth of adult education.
