Pasadena City College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

In June 2015, the ACCJC put PCC's accreditation on probation, identifying nine separate areas of improvement that the college must address by October 2016. The information below and on these pages demonstrates PCC's work toward this deadline.

PCC notes that none of the ACCJC's recommendations are directly related to the college's educational quality or service to the community, and looks forward to restoring full accreditation in due course.

September

29th - Accreditation groups/subgroups have met and created a plan/steps for meeting their recommendation

October

2nd - Working plans/steps from each recommendation group/subgroup submitted to ALO

November

6th - Drafts from working groups/subgroups for each area submitted to ALO

Mid - Campus Forums for Accreditation Update

27th - Draft of Follow-Up Report completed before Winter Break

2016

January

20th - Recommendation groups/subgroups have reconvened after the break and determined work that still needs to be completed

February

12th, 5 PM - New drafts from working groups/subgroups for each area submitted to ALO and Faculty Accreditation Coordinator

16th - Drafts returned to working groups for revision and/or additional evidence

19th, by noon - Final drafts from working groups due to ALO and Faculty Accreditation Coordinator

22nd - Report sent to P&P members (a preliminary draft may be sent on 2/19); draft report made available to campus for electronic input

24th - P&P/Accred Steering Committee - 1st Reading of Follow-Up Report Board, Presentation on Draft report to Board of Trustees

29th - P&P/Accreditation Steering Committee - 2nd Reading

March

2nd - Additional P&P meeting (in the event needed)

14th - P&P/Accred Steering Committee - Additional meeting if necessary

18th - Feedback on draft received from Board of Trustees

28th - Academic Senate 1st Reading and Approval of Follow-Up Report

30th - Associated Students 1st Reading of Follow-Up Report

April

6th - Classified Senate 1st Reading of Follow-Up Report
