PCC's Blank, Gregg Repeat As All-SCC Women's Water Polo 1st Team
For the second consecutive season, Pasadena City College women's water polo players Makenzie Blank and Shelby Gregg were picked to the All-South Coast Conference First Team. Blank, a utility player, became the Lancers' all-time leading scorer with 168 goals while Gregg set the school record for most saves in one season this year with 279.
Blank, from Temple City High, led the Lancers in goals this season with 89 after also leading PCC in scoring as a freshman (79). Gregg (Crescenta Valley High) is the school's second all-time leader in saves with 470.
Making the All-SCC Second Team was a two-time selection in Milene Minassians, an attacker from Glendale High, who scored 38 goals as a sophomore. Also chosen Second Team were sophomore driver Naoni Padilla (South Pasadena High, 22 steals, eight goals) and freshman utility player Marisa Rack, from Vista Murrieta High. Rack led the team in steals with 78 and assists with 35 to go with 25 goals.
Sophomore center forward Paloma Barrera (Burroughs High, 18 goals) and transfer utility player Ashli Gonzales (Charter Oak, 15 goals, 28 steals) received conference honorable mentions.
The Lancers water polo team is directed by head coach Terry Stoddard.
