Dr. Robert Bell Assumes PCC Athletic Director Role
Pasadena City College has announced that Dr. Robert Bell has taken over the duties of athletic director for the Lancers’ intercollegiate sports program. Dr. Bell replaces John Woods, who has completed his extended assignment with the college.
Dr. Bell, who also serves as PCC's Senior Vice President/Assistant Superintendent of Academic and Student Affairs, will take care of all administrative needs and direct the budget for the college’s 16 intercollegiate sports teams. A veteran of more than 28 years in higher education, including stints at Chaffey and Cerritos Colleges, Dr. Bell has been an administrator at PCC since July of 2011.
Woods, who was originally hired by the college to work only the 2011-2012 academic year, continued his service as A.D. during a transitional period for the college athletics area. He then stepped down from the post at the midway point of the 2012-2013 sports season. Woods had come out of retirement from Palomar College after serving as its athletic director for 21 years.
